Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to some of the most common questions about starting psychotherapy with Bridge Psychotherapy.
What can I expect during my first psychotherapy session?
In our first session together, you’ll have time to ask questions about the process and how we work. We’ll be curious about your situation and your hopes for therapy, and we’ll come to an understanding about its focus and how best to proceed, the structure will depend on your needs, circumstances, and goals. We’ll also clarify the boundaries of confidentiality during this session.
How long does psychotherapy last?
Following an initial consultation, we’ll commit to working together for an agreed length of time, enough to establish whether the relationship is a good fit. From there, therapy lasts as long as you need it to; when you decide to end, we’ll ask you to attend a closing session.
Where is Bridge Psychotherapy located?
We offer integrative and biodynamic psychotherapy both in person and online. Our practice is based at Setu Studio in Kilcornan Woods, Clarenbridge, Co. Galway, and we also offer secure online sessions.
How much does psychotherapy cost?
Individual psychotherapy sessions cost €70 and last one hour. A sliding scale is available for those who are under-employed or unemployed, with reductions made on a case-by-case basis.
How often are psychotherapy sessions?
We meet weekly at the same time, with sessions lasting one hour.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations, except in exceptional circumstances.
